After working in the film industry for twenty years and resigning as Vice President of Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina the summer of 2003 Gerald Waller decided to pursue two lifetime goals:

              •  Continue his professional development

              •  Produce media with global education being the primary focus

After spending time getting reacquainted with his first career, electrical contracting, and renewing some old contacts, Gerald responded to an ad the spring of 2005 for an Electrical Instructor position at James Sprunt Community College. "I saw this as a perfect opportunity to continue my professional development. I was born and raised in Kinston, NC and was familiar with James Sprunt Community College.  Having lived in Wilmington the past 30 years, I wanted to return to my rural North Carolina roots."

Over the past few years Gerald has traveled the world extensively on education tours and presented at several colleges on globalization, social media, electrical technology, media technology, and green technology. He has created several websites and other media for open source educational use.

He recently completed his fifth Faces of the World series,  “ Faces of Cuba.”  Previous series include China, India, Honduras and Brazil.

" James Sprunt Community College has been very supportive of my work and I am proud to have been part of their academic family.  Wallermedia will also continue to expand as an outgrowth of my life experience and work."

Gerald finishes as Department Chair of Vocational education at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, North Carolina at the end of June 2015.

“From here I hope to go back to teaching and resume my global education work... stay tuned...”
